Midas Art #3

My biography claims that everything I touch turns to art. I’m having a good time showing the other things writers get up to in the creative world.

This is a sugar flower. I make the paste out of icing sugar, egg whites and gum tragacanth. It is elastic and pliable and silky to the touch. It dries hard, but brittle. This rose lost several petals in transport. The cotton wool holds the petals in place while they dry.

Below is the cake that the five roses decorated. The bride’s grandfather helped me put the fondant on!

This little creature lives in the woods. Do you meet moss covered rocks on your explorations of nature? I remember Bergen forests in Norway and I remember Anansi and the Strange Moss Covered Rock.

As a writer, I make up stories for the creatures I meet. That is how I came up with the idea for Algae Writers. There is a spring near my house that only runs a short distance. A whole kingdom of fairies lives there!

What kind of story would you write for this little one?
